Cockermouth Town on Tour! Discover your local businesses at Cockermouth Show 2026.
Cockermouth Show is one of the biggest events in the town’s calendar and is packed with decades of tradition. Now, for the first time, Cockermouth & District Chamber of Trade is taking over a marquee at this historic event.
The aim is to showcase some of the town’s businesses and organisations, including shops, hospitality and specialist services, spreading the #shoplocal and #supportlocal message. Here’s a flavour of what’s in store for visitors. Please pop in and see them on Saturday 1 August.
Beside the Lake specialise in luxury, natural, handmade soap, shower and spa products. Formulated with expertise using only the very best ingredients, they create aromatherapy rituals to elevate your day.
Market Place Print Studio will be selling a range of handprinted products including lino printed cards, block printed fabrics and wall hangings, original artworks and their popular Holly the Herdwick tea towel. They will also be offering a block printing activity for all ages where visitors can ink up and print using a range of hand-carved animal blocks.
Baby Sensory West Cumbria provides award-winning sensory and development classes for babies aged up to 13 months. Each session is packed with magical sensory experiences, designed to support learning, development and bonding. Classes are run by Vicky Davidson at Kirkgate Arts, Seaton Village Hall, and Lamplugh Village Hall.
Oh, sister is a family business in the heart of Cockermouth. They design, manufacture and repair jewellery in silver, gold or platinum, creating a range of wearable, trendy and affordable handmade jewellery for everyday or those special occasions.
Burnetts Solicitors is one of the largest law firms in the North and has offices in Cockermouth, Kendal and Carlisle, as well as Hexham and Newcastle. The Burnetts team, led by Commercial Property Solicitor Ben Crystal, will be in the marquee and on hand throughout the day to answer any initial legal queries you have and help point you in the right direction.
The High Tea Guy at Cockermouth Show for a little tasty treat on the go. Known for beautifully crafted afternoon teas, they’ll be serving up a selection of their most loved sweet treats – from freshly baked scones with jam and cream to indulgent cakes and savoury bites. Whether you’re after a quick treat or a box to take home and enjoy, it’s the perfect way to add something special to your Show day.
WCF Pet & Equestrian will be taking the opportunity to chat to pet owners and animal lovers throughout Show day. As a proudly Cumbrian business, rooted in more than a century of rural heritage, the Station Road store offers UK made Lakes Collection pet food, alongside a wide range of quality animal care products and supplies for pet owners, equestrians and small holders.
Cumbrian Baker is an artisan bakery situated on the outskirts of town at Lakeland Agricultural Centre and is dedicated to using locally sourced ingredients to bring high quality baked goods to the county. They’ll be bringing some of their bestselling items, including bread, pies, sausage rolls and sweet treats.
The Linden Tree sells beautiful gifts to give and wear from the pretty shop on Main Street and the team will be offering a fabulous range of jewellery, scarves, handbags, cards, and candles from their stall in the marquee. They say they are really looking forward to the Show – and have all fingers crossed for a sunny day!
Dianne Standen of Creative Textiles normally located in Brigham, just outside of Cockermouth, houses the workshop and gallery specialising in creatively reusing materials to produce a variety of new work. Experimental textile techniques that reuse materials. Joining forces with the soon to open Dot Gallery, where Dianne will be their first local artist exhibition.
The Children’s Society charity shop will be showcasing a handpicked selection of pre-loved treasures, from one-off pieces, specialist books, agricultural themed homeware, and accessories. They also have a great range of everyday cards on offer.
Strolling4Shoes is an award-winning shoe shop and a well-established family business selling casual, colourful and comfortable shoes, sandals and boots for women and men. Show visitors will also be able to discover their bag selection, including Roka London. Your Summer will get a whole lot brighter – whether you’re heading to the coast, the park, or soaking up city sunshine.
Kirkgate Arts is your local arts and heritage centre offering space for hire for meetings and events, with regular cinema screenings, live music, theatre, comedy, workshops, exhibitions and more, right in the heart of town. They also run Kirkgate Arts Out West, bringing top class entertainment to rural venues throughout the area.
The Toy Shop is a family-run independent business located on Main Street. Now celebrating its 30th year of trading, the store boasts two floors packed with wonderful toys, games, puzzles and gifts for all ages. From classic favourites to the latest must-haves, visitors to their stand can expect a glimpse of the fun and imagination that makes The Toy Shop a favourite with local families and visitors alike.

Cockermouth Linking Lives is a befriending charity which links lonely people with friendly locals for weekly chats and smiles. They also run a Comfort Cafe, Together@2 social gatherings and a Chatty Lunch Club. They’ve got some fun activities planned for all the family at the Show.

Desire and its sister shop SR Shoes are usually found on Station Street and the Desire team will be bringing some of their clothing and accessory ranges to the Chamber marquee on Show day. Find a colourful new outfit and get some Summer outfit inspiration.
Oakhurst Garden Centre will be making sure the Cockermouth Town marquee stands out with a great display of plants and pots from the collections at their family-run premises on Lamplugh Road. They’ll be choosing some colourful seasonal blooms as well as offering great horticultural advice.
