We are an independent award-winning grant making charity dedicated to meeting the needs in our communities by providing financial support to local charities and voluntary organisations as well as supporting individuals in Cumbria.
Cockermouth Music Society is a registered charity which also supports local music making by promoting Young Persons’ and Members’ Concerts; and by organising an occasional workshop in a local school.
An affiliation of 15 churches working together, across 3 denominations and 7 parishes, in and around Cockermouth
It’s mainly free to everyone to attend; there are 5 ticketed events; and it’s run by volunteers and is not for profit.
Cockermouth RUFC is a forward thinking organisation using sport to create a community hub of physical activity & sporting opportunities for people of all ages & abilities.
Cockermouth WI was started nearly 11 years ago and prides itself on being a trusted space for women of all ages to share experiences, learn from each other and enjoy fun and friendship.
Cockermouth Linking Lives was launched in 2019 and provides one to one befriending in person or by phone. We also run various activities.
If you are looking for a friendly lawn bowling club then the Croft Bowling Club has a lovely green in a quiet setting within the town centre. Bowls is a great game for all ages.
The club supports local schools, local projects, events and also participates in supporting International activities. Local community spirit has enabled the club to support various local organisations and events.
Cockermouth Golf Club is situated 3 miles east of Cockermouth. You are surrounded by excellent views including Skiddaw, the Lorton Fells, Scotland and even, weather permitting, the Isle of Man.
With over 800 members, Cockermouth u3a has a wide range of groups, artistic, crafts, languages, as well as physical activities such as walking and cycling. Many of our groups perform at care homes or lunch clubs as well as performing for other members.
