It’s fair to say Cockermouth has some great hardware stores. Seek out the fantastically quirky JB Banks & Son. There’s the Lakes Home Centre too, which has plenty of DIY and garden products. And for “white goods” don’t look further than our own Lakes Electrical Supplies- an independent electrical store which also stocks bulbs- for a light socket -not the garden!

For almost 200 years, we’ve been providing Cockermouth with a unique retail experience. We sell traditional home and hardware items and restored tools. In the back we have the original workshop that dates to the 1820s and is in situ from when it was last used in the 1950s.
