Community based organisation for women offering friendship, outings and activities
Cockermouth WI was started nearly 11 years ago and prides itself on being a trusted space for women of all ages to share experiences, learn from each other and enjoy fun and friendship.
We meet on the first Monday of the month at 7.30pm at the Methodist Church Hall on Lorton Street. Our meetings can either be activity based, speaker based or just a social night. Within the Cockermouth WI, there are many groups that meet outside of the monthly meetings. These groups include a stitching group, book group, walking group, food group, eating out group, lunch group, walking netball and are an ideal way to get to know other members. We also fundraise throughout the year raising funds for local charities. If you think that you might be interested in joining or just want to see what it’s all about, then come to a meeting – you’ll be greeted with a friendly face and introduced to someone who will be your ‘buddy’ for the night.
