Cockermouth u3a
The u3a is a friendly movement of retired and semi-retired people
With over 800 members, Cockermouth u3a has a wide range of groups, artistic, crafts, languages, as well as physical activities such as walking and cycling. Many of our groups perform at care homes or lunch clubs as well as performing for other members.
There is Something for Everyone!
Cockermouth u3a exists to encourage like-minded people to meet together to make new friends, learn new skills, share knowledge and experiences, keep fit – mentally and physically and just about anything else that is legal. It is run by the members for the members and we are always looking for new members and creating new groups. You will be most welcome.
A Monthly Meeting is held on the second Monday of the month except August in Lorton Street Methodist Church rooms at 2pm.
We aim for a variety of activities at the meetings, including visiting speakers and entertainment organised by some of our groups. Refreshments are served at the end of the meeting.
Our monthly meetings are open to all, including non-members and are a great way to meet us and find out what we get up to. You will be most welcome.
GROUPS
We have over 40 groups so there is almost certainly something for you!
You can find more details of the individual groups on the website, along with details of their activities and meeting dates.
Most groups will welcome you on a trial basis, and also from the website you can apply to be registered for groups you are interested in.
